The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority released its three-year statistics overview tabulating Port of Vancouver throughput by commodity for 2023-2025, including fertilizer and sulphur lines used by trade media for the 3.5 million metric tonne 2025 sulfur figure. The overview is the primary open source for annual Vancouver sulfur tonnage and for year-on-year fertilizer growth of 21 percent to 14.0 million metric tonnes. It anchors Canadian West Coast export intelligence. Later 22 August desk confirmation of 3,507,428 tonnes of sulphur, up 5 percent, is this same PDF read at the tonne level.
The desk's verified_public Vancouver series from VFPA overviews is 2.29 million tonnes in 2021, 2.79 million in 2022, 3.10 million in 2023, 3.35 million in 2024, and 3.51 million in 2025. The March 2026 posting is what locks 2023-2025 on that tape. It is not a monthly. It is the annual book.
Fertilizer-category cargo at 14.0 million tonnes includes potash and other fertilizers as well as sulphur. Sulfur is the yellow line inside that category. Destinations in the same overview put 2025 China at 1.30 million tonnes of sulphur, Australia 597,000, Indonesia 371,000, and the United States 302,000, up 191 percent.
Alberta recovered sulfur still leaves mainly through this port. Forming plants rail to Vancouver and Port Moody. The 15 March publication date sits two weeks after Kpler dated Hormuz closed to commercial dry bulk. The PDF's 2025 figures are last year's stem, not March 2026 loadings. They still tell buyers where the unconstrained Pacific alternative has been growing.
SMM's later H1 review put national 2025 Canadian sulfur exports at 4.25 million tonnes. Vancouver at 3.51 million is the majority port. Other Canadian origins and forms fill the gap. Alberta and British Columbia together are more than 95 percent of the national export account in that SMM telling.
Canada Action's March fact sheet cited the same 3.5 million tonne Vancouver 2025 movement and $1.45 billion of national sulfur export value. USGS MCS 2026 put Canada production at 5.0 million tonnes 2025e. The VFPA PDF is the port confirmation those secondary sheets lean on.
Tampa molten is a Florida contract. It does not appear in a Vancouver cargo PDF. The connection is corridor: tonnes that leave this harbour are the Pacific answer when Tampa and Gulf solids reprice on a Hormuz shock.
