Alberta Energy Regulator ST3 Supply and Disposition of Sulphur data, with run date 27 August 2026, put province-wide closing inventory at 11,109,610.9 tonnes for July 2026.

January 2026 opening inventory in the same file was 11,413,036.2 tonnes, implying a year-to-date draw of about 303,000 tonnes through July closes rather than the sharper platform path previously shown on public charts.

July total production was 378,614.8 tonnes against a year-to-date total of 2,430,276.0 tonnes, keeping Alberta recovered sulphur output near the 350,000 to 400,000 tonne monthly band common in oil sands and sour gas balances.

Total removals from Alberta were 183,631.4 tonnes in July and 1,127,009.9 tonnes year to date, counting dispositions to the first destination outside the province rather than final export markets.

The ST3 file is primary government reporting with observation class verified_public, replacing July 2025 anchors sourced through trade press at 11.66 million tonnes on Sulfur Wire charts.

Monthly closes from January through July 2026 in the same PDF step down from 11,362,105.3 tonnes in January to 11,109,610.9 tonnes in July, a gradual draw consistent with firm FOB economics BC Insight still prices at 1,100 to 1,200 dollars.

BC Insight's September 19 Harrisson update argued global sulphur remains in deficit with Middle East exports below 1 million tonnes per month since March, a seaborne tightness that can coexist with double-digit million-tonne Alberta stocks.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority reported 3,507,428 metric tonnes of sulfur exports in 2025, up 5 percent year on year, showing the stem can clear blocks when rail and forming capacity align.

SMM's August customs put China sulfur imports at 272,323 metric tonnes, down 65 percent year on year, a Pacific demand read that matters for Vancouver destination mix even when Alberta inventory is ample.

Shengyishe's September 21 benchmark held 7,669 yuan per tonne flat with month-to-date down 8.14 percent from the September 1 open, keeping Chinese spot soft relative to Pacific FOB bands.

Fertilizer Daily's September 20 phosphate review cut East China liquid sulphur to 7,325 yuan, linking softer fertilizer economics to raw material sulphur offers inside China.

UkrAgroConsult's September 18 reporting cited Tampa delivered sulfur above 1,100 dollars per tonne since May with Mosaic near 50 percent rates, the Atlantic demand side of the same inventory and price story.
