North American recovered-sulfur desks on 29 October refreshed the Alberta stockpile anchor from Alberta Energy Regulator ST3, as the current Sulphur supply-and-disposition PDF with run date 28 September 2026 carried a full August 2026 month close for the first time on the public file.

Province-wide closing inventory at end August 2026 stood at 11,042,851.4 tonnes on the INVCL line, down 66,759.5 tonnes from 11,109,610.9 tonnes at end July 2026 on the same table.

August production totaled 328,937.3 tonnes, split among gas-plant and gathering process, oil sands upgrading, and refinery streams as reported in ST3, while removals from Alberta reached 178,425.2 tonnes for the month.

Year-to-date production through August rose to 2,759,213.3 tonnes and year-to-date removals to 1,305,435.1 tonnes on the open PDF, keeping the provincial balance sheet in the same statistical series Sulfur Wire marks verified_public.

September 2026 monthly closing cells on the current ST3 extract remained blank at desk time, so August is the latest month-end provincial inventory print until the regulator posts September INVCL.

The draw versus July reflects continued export and domestic offtake against steady oil sands and gas-plant production, the pattern Vancouver and rail schedulers watch when sizing Heartland and terminal blocks.

Offshore removals in August contributed to the monthly removal total alongside PADD 4 and other U.S. Gulf Coast routing reported in ST3, without restating licensed weekly assessment prices.

China benchmark weakness on the same session, with Shengyishe at 5,551.75 yuan per tonne, sits in a different demand lane but still feeds netback spreadsheets that pair Alberta inventory with coastal replacement cost.

Middle East October contract references on open feeds remained QatarEnergy 835 dollars FOB, Kuwait 820 dollars FOB, and ADNOC 890 dollars FOB Ruwais per Shanghai Metals Market's 8 October notice, with no verified November nomination on the pass.

Port of Vancouver and Statistics Canada HS 2503 tables showed no new open monthly sulfur line on this sweep; VFPA cargo pages returned errors on automated fetch.

USGS Mineral Industry Surveys sulfur links for 2026 remain available through July on the national minerals page; no additional U.S. monthly was added to site JSON on this run.

Desk read: treat 11.04 Mt end-August provincial stock as the verified North American inventory anchor until September ST3 posts, and keep Vancouver stem planning tied to August removals near 178 kt rather than July's 184 kt pace.
