Sulphur price FOB Vancouver: hub context and public anchors
Sulphur price FOB Vancouver is the reference frame for Pacific export of formed granular recovered sulphur loaded at British Columbia terminals. Contracts typically cite FOB (free on board) at Port Moody or North Vancouver loadports, USD per metric tonne, for solid prill or granular product. Price reporting agencies publish weekly FOB Vancouver assessments used in term contracts; those licensed ticks are not redistributed on Sulfur Wire.
What Sulfur Wire does publish: provenance-tagged public price anchors (index codes SR-VAN-FOB-G and SR-VAN-FOB) on Charts and the API, tagged verified_public, industry_estimate, or platform_estimate per row. Physical backdrop sets the price: Alberta and BC producers move molten sulphur to inland solidification plants, then rail formed product to Pacific Coast Terminals and Vancouver Wharves. China, Australia, Indonesia, and growing Americas destinations appear in public destination tables. When Middle East supply tightens, Vancouver FOB often firms as Pacific buyers seek Canadian origin.
Basis trades against US Gulf FOB granular (SR-BASIS-VG on Sulfur Wire) and against Tampa molten on a different unit and Incoterm. Netbacks add Pacific freight to implied CFR China or other destinations. None of those calculations require pasting a licensed weekly assessment into a public page.
